Chris Rathburn, MD
Board Certified in Internal Medicine
Dr. Rathburn is board certified in the specialty of Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been in practice in Jacksonville since 1989. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Florida International University of Miami in 1975 and his MD from the Amercian University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Summa Health Systems Hospital in Akron, Ohio, finishing in 1984.
The office is located next to Memorial Hospital where he has a primary care office and also serves as a Hospitalist managing patients in the hospital as well as office care.
Dr. Rathburn has held various positions in the hospital including:
- Chief of Internal Medicine - Memorial
- Chairman of the Department of Medicine - Memorial
- President of Medical Staff - Specialty Hospital of Jacksonville
Away from the office, Dr. Rathburn enjoys playing with his band, “No Known Cure” as a guitarist and vocalist. The band plays at various social functions such as dances for the American Heart and Lung Associations, and We Care Physician Talent Show at the Florida Theater for the Memorial Family Practice Associates Portalless. He also enjoys golf with his father and friends and taking vacations with his family.
Jana Robinson, ARNP
Jana Robinson obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University. Post graduation, she was employed at Capital Regional Medical Center, formerly Tallahassee Community Hospital. Her experience as a Registered Nurse included the ER and the Progressive Care Unit. Jana returned to her alma mater to earn her Master’s of Science in Nursing, graduating with honors. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Jana relocated to Jacksonville in 2004 and joined Dr. Chris Rathburn’s practice. Jana’s interest includes all aspects of general primary care. She finds her job a privilege in helping with one’s medical care.
Jana is an active member in the Junior League of Jacksonville, which has given her the opportunity to volunteer and focus on issues in Duval County facing public education and foster care. When not at work, Jana enjoys spending time with her husband and her family.
What is an ARNP?
ARNP stands for advanced registered nurse practitioner. This is a registered nurse who has completed graduate level training and received a master’s degree in nursing. Nurse practitioners focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education.
